I'm deciding between a Ram 1500 and a Tundra, but I'm running into some customization issues with the Ram.

I love the Limited's interior, but I can't get it with a standard output engine and a longer bed without the Rambox. I'm also not a fan of the high-output engine's fuel economy.

The Tundra is similar, but you have to get the hybrid to get the nice interior, and that means losing storage under the rear seat. I'm considering waiting for the Ramcharger, hoping it'll offer more customization options.

It's disappointing that customizing a truck to one's exact preferences often requires a significant increase in price. I find the Rambox feature particularly useful for my truck's needs, and I also value the MFT system. In the end, you'll need to carefully consider the advantages and disadvantages of each option.

I get it. The Limited's interior is top-tier. the configuration limits can be frustrating. How about going with the Laramie trim and customizing from there? You won’t get all the bells and whistles of the Limited, but it gives you more flexibility with engine choices and bed length. Also, the Rambox is a love-it-or-hate-it feature, but it’s really useful if you do any outdoor activities or work with tools. Waiting for the Ramcharger might be an option, but who knows what customization options they'll offer with that. Just depends on how long you're willing to wait. It's a limited production anyway.

Man, the Ram 1500 Limited interior is hard to beat, right? I feel you on the engine and bed customization issues, though. If fuel economy is a big factor, maybe stick with the standard engine. The Rambox is cool if you need extra storage, but it’s not for everyone. If you can’t get the setup you want with the Ram 1500, holding out for the Ramcharger could be worth it—rumor has it, they'll offer more flexibility in customization, especially for EV and hybrid options. Either way, I think you’d be happier with Ram over Tundra, just for the overall package.

You’ve got a big and tough decision! Both the Ram 1500 and Tundra have their pros and cons. And it is confusing! Ram's Limited interior is fantastic, but I get your concern about the high-output engine's fuel economy. The lack of flexibility with bed size and engine options is frustrating, but the Rambox might be worth reconsidering if you haul gear frequently. On the flip side, the Tundra forces you into a hybrid for the nicer interior, which sacrifices some storage. Waiting for the Ramcharger could be a smart move if it offers the customization you’re looking for, just depends on how soon you need the truck.

I feel that, customization options can be pretty limiting with the Ram 1500, especially when you’re eyeing the Limited. Have you talked to a dealership about any upcoming changes to the 2024 lineup? Hmmm maybe booking a test drive would feel better. Sometimes manufacturers sneak in more flexibility after listening to customer feedback. The Ramcharger could be a great option if you’re not in a rush, but it’s a gamble on whether it’ll really offer the customization you want. Any chance you’ve looked into aftermarket mods to get the setup you need? What other options do you have or looking at?
