I've got a 2021 Ram 1500 Big Horn, totally stock with no lift or leveling. It came with 275/65R18 tires, but I’m thinking about bumping up to 275/70R18 for a bit more aggressive look and ground clearance. Anyone here tried this setup without rubbing issues?

Also, I’m looking for something with a tougher tread but not crazy over the top. Any tire recommendations for a good balance of daily driving comfort and off-road capability? I'm interested in probably travelling off-road sometime.

That tire upgrade will definitely give your Ram a meaner look! Just keep in mind, going up a size could slightly affect fuel efficiency since you're adding weight and rolling resistance. If you're after something balanced, the Goodyear Fortitude HTs could be a great choice, they're tough but still pretty efficient for daily use.

My son just put on 275/70 R18 Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires. They're the right size for his car, no rubbing at all. They're pretty big tires, about 33 inches tall and 11 inches wide.

I’ve seen others go with 275/70R18 without rubbing, but it might depend on your exact truck setup. For tires, consider Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac..

Going from 275/65R18 to 275/70R18 is generally considered a safe size increase on a stock 2021 Ram 1500 Big Horn. You should not experience any rubbing issues with this size.

Since you're looking for a good balance of on-road comfort and off-road capability, you can either try Falken Wildpeak A/T3W or BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2

I get wanting the extra ground clearance and aggressive look, but going from 275/65R18 to 275/70R18 means you’re adding almost an inch in overall diameter. That might be fine on a stock suspension, but depending on how much travel you have, you could run into rubbing at full turn or under load. Have you checked if anyone with the same trim and no lift has done this without trimming? Might be worth testing one tire before committing to a full set.

I'm eager to find out which tires you decide to go with. I'd love to hear all about how they perform once you've tried them out
