Just got my truck leveled and aligned and now I'm stuck with a disabled forward collision alert (AEB). Seems like it might be because of the system angle? Read here that the bumper sensors aren't the culprit, but the module behind the mirror. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't use the system anyway, but that yellow icon is driving me nuts!

Anyone know if it's possible to adjust the angle of that mirror module down a bit to clear the alert? Also, how does the plastic cover come off? Just pull straight out? Vaguely remember a post mentioning an adjustment screw under the mounting screw. Any help is appreciated!

Looks like you have a similar issue with the one I replied here. So I'm gonna say it again.

The plastic cover is kept secure with 4 clips. To remove it, use a trim removal tool, particularly one with a half-moon shape. These tools can fit into those tight spaces and gently pry the cover off without causing scratches. Don't worry about removing the weird round piece above the mirror first.

that forward collision alert can definitely get thrown off after you lift the truck. it’s not the bumper sensors causing the issue, but rather the module behind the rearview mirror that needs a little tweaking. As for that plastic cover, you should be able to pop it off by pulling it straight out, but just be gentle with it. Some models have clips that can easily break if you yank too hard, and nobody wants that hassle!

Once you get the cover off, there’s an adjustment screw located under the mounting screw that lets you tweak the angle of the module. It might take a bit of trial and error to get it just right, but I’m confident you’ll figure it out! Just take your time

those yellow icons are frustrating! It's like they’re always popping up at the most inconvenient times. You’re definitely on the right track with adjusting the mirror module. Popping off the plastic cover should be pretty straightforward. You can just pull it straight out. But like you said, it’s definitely smart to be cautious; some of those clips can be a bit finicky and break if you’re not gentle.

Once you get the cover off and make those angle adjustments, the alert should clear up nicely. Just be prepared for a bit of trial and error; it might take a couple of tweaks to get everything just right. But hang in there! I’m rooting for you, and I’d love to hear how it goes once you manage to sort it out!

It’s pretty common for the forward collision alert to get all out of whack when the angle changes like that. it’s usually an easy fix. You can pop off the plastic cover with a gentle pull, but just be careful! If you yank too hard, those clips might break, and you don’t want that.

Once you have the cover off, you’ll find an adjustment screw under the mirror. That’s your ticket to tweaking the sensor angle just right. It might take a couple of tries to get it perfect, but once you do, that pesky yellow icon should finally disappear! 😎

sounds like the mirror module just needs a quick adjustment. You can pop the plastic cover off by pulling it straight out. And you gotta make sure to be gentle so you don’t accidentally snap any of those clips. Once the cover is off, there should be an adjustment screw right under the mounting screw that lets you tweak the angle. It might take a bit of trial and error to get it just right, but , that warning light should disappear. Definitely one of those little fixes that can save you a lot of hassle!
