My new 2024 Ram 1500 Big Horn is already giving me trouble. Just got it last month and last week the battery died while I was driving. Had to call Roadside Assistance for a jump start. Horrible! Its super annoying to have this kind of issue with a truck I’ve only had for a few weeks. The dealer checked it out and said the battery’s fine, can you believe that? Sounds fishy to me.

I haven’t had any problems in the past three days and the battery voltage is reading between 12.7v and 14v, but I’m still keeping an eye on it. Has anyone else had this happen?

that’s frustrating! A brand new truck shouldn’t have you calling for a jump start already. Even if the dealer says the battery’s fine, I’d keep a close watch. Sometimes new vehicles have battery drain issues due to a software glitch or something drawing power in the background. Hopefully, it’s just a one-off, but definitely keep monitoring that voltage!

Had a similar issue with my last truck where the battery would act up randomly. Even if the voltage looks normal now, it could still be an intermittent issue. Sometimes there’s an electrical component that doesn’t fully power down, causing a drain. I’d keep tracking the voltage and maybe get a second opinion if it happens again. Definitely annoying for a new truck, though! 😖

not what you want with a new truck! If the dealer says the battery’s fine but you’re still seeing issues, it could be a parasitic drain, sometimes a sensor or module stays active even after the truck’s off, slowly draining the battery. Another possibility is that the alternator briefly wasn’t charging when you were driving. If you’re comfortable with it, using a multimeter to check for any voltage drops over a few days could help you catch any irregularities. Good luck, and I hope it was just a fluke!

Try calling and bringing that to the shop! New truck and already a battery headache. My guess is that something might’ve been drawing extra power that day, could be a loose connection or a component that didn’t fully turn off. Keep an eye on it, and if it acts up again, maybe push for a deeper check with the dealer. Sometimes they need a nudge to dig a little deeper on these things. Hopefully, it’s a one-time thing, but definitely keep that voltage in check! 🤔
