Currently, it’s the 48-11TC, but I’m considering upgrading to the 48-13TC from the TRX platform since it’s clutch-operated and has a reputation for being tougher. I’ve been thinking about swapping the transfer case on my 2020 Ram 1500 to something more robust.

From what I've heard, a simple pin swap on the harness could make it a direct fit. Anyone here tried this swap? Does it just plug and play, or are there potential compatibility issues I should be aware of? 😓

Unless you're prepping for the track, why not just go with a used TRX? It already has the tougher transfer case you’re after, and it could save you time and money. Have you considered that option?

The 48-13TC swap from the TRX platform is popular for its durability, and it can be nearly plug-and-play. However, while the pin swap on the harness often works, some users have reported needing custom programming for compatibility with the ECU. Did you check if your truck’s software supports this upgrade?

I'm wondering about swapping transfer cases. Like what really changes? If you put in a tougher one does your car actually perform any differently? Anyone know what kind of impact it has? I'm just curious if it's worth it.
