Alright, beach bums, I'm about to hit the sand with my new 2022 Ram Warlock. I've been beach driving in my old F-150, but this Warlock is a whole new beast. It's heavier, taller, and has different tires. I'm worried about losing traction, dealing with this new 4-lock system, and whether or not airing down to 20 psi will be safe. Has anyone out there taken a similar truck to the beach? Any tips on handling the sand, tire pressure, and whether disabling MDS is a good idea?

What kind of tires does the stock Warlock have? If it's A/T, then you should be good. Just air down to at least 17psi and drive on 4lo.

Don't worry about that MDS thing. You'll be pushing the gas pedal pretty hard, so it shouldn't shut off any cylinders. Plus, I don't think it even works in 4x4 mode.

Forget the beach, I've been conquering the sand dunes at Oregon Inlet, North Carolina! I aired down my 18-inch tires to about 16 PSI and cruised right through. My truck handled the dunes like a champ, even on the infamous "Test Hill." For airing back up, I rely on my trusty Ridgid 18V inflator. It's compact and gets the job done, plus it has a cigarette lighter adapter for those times when the battery runs low.

That 4-lock system took me a bit to get used to, too. I found that starting in 4-high and then switching to 4-low if needed was the best approach. And yeah, 20 psi is usually the sweet spot, but I always keep a close eye on the sidewalls, just in case. I've seen some scary roll-offs
