I'm having a frustrating issue with my 2021 RAM 1500. My GPS is completely useless! I tried searching for an address today, but it kept saying I'm "offline." I realized I let my Uconnect Guardian subscription expire a couple of years ago.

Does anyone know if there's a way to get my GPS working again without renewing Uconnect Guardian? I'm hoping there's a workaround or a hidden setting I can adjust.

Just use Google Maps or Waze on your phone for way better directions. And don’t forget to download those offline maps too - trust me, you’ll thank yourself if you lose your signal.

I’ve never subscribed to Guardian, yet I’ve always managed to search for addresses in nav. Maybe it's time for a nav update on your system?

Yeah, losing GPS when the subscription expires is a bummer. I’m pretty sure the built-in nav relies on Uconnect services for map updates and live traffic, but you could try using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto instead. Way cheaper than renewing the whole Guardian package!

Simple: use WAZE!!

If you have a smartphone, you can bypass Uconnect’s native GPS entirely by using either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Both allow you to use Google Maps or Apple Maps through your truck’s infortainment system, which wouldn’t require the Uconnect Guardian service.
