Stellantis' electric motor strategy

Stellantis seems to be playing it both ways with their electric motors – some they make themselves, some they get from other companies. This gives them options, but makes you wonder if they're really all-in on making their own stuff long-term. Their Emotors deal with Nidec is a big step towards doing it themselves, and they're aiming to make a bunch of those efficient, small motors.

STLA Small small electric city cars.

STLA Medium compact, versatile models.

STLA Large : top-of-the-range vehicles.

STLA Frame : utilities and pickups.

Each platform is associated with EDMs designed to meet specific power and autonomy requirements. These have since been joined by the STLA Smart for electric cars with more aggressive pricing.

Looks solid to me to be honest. But there's a lot of competition now so I hope they double up and deliver something really good.
