I'm a bit confused about this one. They claim it's an electric truck, so why does it have a gas generator? It's supposed to be called a hybrid, correct? While it's a cool feature for people who have range anxiety, the high price may limit its appeal.
Well you are correct that it is a hybrid but it is a plug-in hybrid. Hybrid vehicles rely more on its gasoline engine whereas the plug-in hybrid can be charged using the electrical outlet. This means that you can charge your car overnight and finish your daily chores without using any gas at all, its just a feature that rescues you from sticky situations. Naturally it is more expensive but remember, the price is just a one time thing, in the long run it will help you save more.

Yeah, consider it as an additional cost but it can easily be recovered through the savings you have in the long run. The satisfaction it gives you can be more than enough for the additional cost you spend for your Ram 1500 EV. A plug-in hybrid only uses the gas generator as a last resort and this hybrid will continue to use electricity until the very moment that you need to have an extra boost to reach your destination.
