Hey folks! Got a quick question for yall - should I be engaging the 4WD on my 2024 Ram 1500 every so often, even if I’m not hitting any off-road trails? My old Tacoma’s manual said to run it for at least 10 miles a month. Just wondering if you Ram 1500 peeps have heard anything like that.

From what I’ve seen, it’s totally worth thinking about engaging it. I’ve stumbled upon several discussions where folks who decided to stick with what they had, ended up regretting it few years down the line. They tried to kick in the 4WD and - surprise! - it wouldn’t budge at all. Yikes!

I appreciate your thoughts! I was thinking of keeping things similar to how I handled the Tacoma - just taking it for a spin a few miles each month. The goal is simply to circulate the oil and give the actuators a bit of a workout.
