We have a 2023 Ram 5500 SLT with the 8.4" system and 6 speakers. Looking to bump up the bass with an aftermarket amp and sub, but need some info first. Anyone know the speaker wire colors for this beast? Also, wondering if the stock system has a factory subwoofer and amp already. Trying to figure out the best way to connect a line output converter for my new setup. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

For the 2023 model, the front left speaker wires are typically white/green for positive and white/brown for negative, while the front right is gray/light green for positive and gray/dark green for negative. The rears should be green/purple and green/light purple. As for the factory amp, if you’ve got the upgraded sound package, there’s usually a small amp driving the speakers, but no dedicated sub. For your aftermarket setup, a line output converter is the way to go, just tap into the rear speaker wires for signal and run it to your new amp and sub. Happy bass-boosting! 💪

I feel you on needing that extra bass! From what I know, the Ram 5500’s factory setup doesn’t include a sub or a big amp, but you should be able to add one easily. The speaker wire colors tend to be white and green up front, with green and purple in the rear. If you’re going the aftermarket route, just tap into the rear speaker wires with a line output converter, and you’ll be bumping in no time!

Upgrading the bass is always a solid move, especially if you love your music with a little extra thump! I believe the factory speaker wires in your 5500 are typically white and green for the front speakers, and green and purple for the rear ones. So you should be set there.

Since I don’t think the stock system comes with a subwoofer, adding an aftermarket one should really elevate your audio experience. A line output converter is definitely the way to go—just tap it into the rear speakers, and you’ll be able to connect your new subwoofer without any hassle.

Once you’ve got everything installed, I’d love to hear how it turns out! Upgrading audio can make such a difference in how you enjoy your rides.

Upgrading your sound system is always a great way to enhance your ride. I’m not 100% sure on the exact wire colors. from what I’ve seen on Rams, the front speaker wires are usually white and green, while the rear ones tend to be green and purple.

it doesn't look like there's a subwoofer included, but I'm curious, have you had a chance to pull back any panels to check for a factory amp? Sometimes, they hide those things away, and you might find some extra goodies back there! Adding that line output converter to the rear speakers should definitely get you the signal you need for your new sub.
