Extended warranty

By skipping the extended warranty on my three new cars, I’ve saved enough cash to easily cover the occasional repair once the warranty runs out. I get that for folks on a tight budget, those unexpected expenses can feel like a real nightmare, making extended warranties seem like a must-have. But honestly, I’ve figured out that it makes way more sense for me to roll the dice and stash the savings instead!

Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it! So, I just went ahead and got it, peace of mind is priceless!

My 2020 Ram 1500 is out of warranty, so I'm thinking about getting an extended warranty. Is it really worthwhile?
I’m not a big fan of extended warranties. In my opinion, these trucks are built tough and should be able to handle the usual wear and tear without major issues. I’d rather invest in regular maintenance and take care of the truck, rather than paying for extra coverage that might not be necessary.

Third-party extended warranties often come with a lot of fine print and limitations. I wouldn't recommend them. However, a manufacturer's warranty, like those offered by Mopar, can be a good investment, especially considering the complexity and cost of modern vehicles, particularly trucks.

Always read the fine print carefully before purchasing any extended warranty.

I’m not a fan of extended warranties either, but it can be a good idea if you plan on keeping the truck for a while, especially if you’re concerned about costly repairs down the road. It really depends on your usage and whether you’re comfortable with the risk of unexpected expenses.
