My 2024 Ram 1500 Bighorn Night Edition came with those crappy halogen headlights. Dealer won't swap it out for a higher trim or a '23 model, and aftermarket LEDs have been a total bust. Thinking about trying OEM LEDs from a higher trim or a '23 model, but worried about needing extra adapters or wiring work. Has anyone done this conversion successfully?

I had the same issue with my 2024 Bighorn, and swapping to OEM LEDs from a higher trim was the best decision I made. You’ll need some extra wiring harnesses and possibly adapters depending on which trim’s headlights you go with, but it’s definitely doable. 👍 I had to reprogram the BCM (body control module) to make it all work. Not a huge job, but if you're not comfortable with wiring, a shop can help. It’s totally worth the effort, the light output is so much better and looks slicker too!

You're not alone on this. 😫 Those halogens are definitely a weak spot on the 2024 Rams. I’d go with OEM LEDs from a higher trim, but, there’s a bit of work . The wiring harnesses are usually different, and you might need adapters to get everything to fit correctly. I’ve heard some people had to adjust the BCM as well. You could try checking with a Ram dealership or a shop that specializes in truck mods, they can handle the rewiring and make sure everything’s compatible. It’s not the cheapest route, but the upgrade in visibility is night and day!

I upgraded my 2024 Ram with OEM LEDs from a higher trim, and it made a huge difference. You will need adapters and possibly a different wiring harness depending on the model year you pull the LEDs from. I’d recommend grabbing everything from the same year trim to avoid any compatibility issues. Also, don’t forget to reprogram the BCM, most dealerships can do that for you. It sounds like a hassle, but if you’re even halfway comfortable with DIY projects, you can do it yourself.

Definitely a solid upgrade!

Man, those halogen headlights are the worst! I’ve been thinking about swapping mine too. I haven’t done it yet, but I’ve read that you’ll probably need new wiring harnesses and maybe some adapters. Sounds like a bit of a pain, but I’ve seen people do it. If you go the OEM LED route, you’ll probably need to get the truck reprogrammed to make everything work, so maybe hit up the dealership to double-check what you need. If you go for it, let us know how it turns out, I’m definitely interested in hearing about how it works! 💪
