Okay, so I've got a 2024 Big Horn and the halogen headlights are killing me. I've read a bunch of stuff online but can't decide what to do. LED or HID? I want something brighter without blinding other drivers, like a nice 4000K color temp. Any suggestions or personal experiences would be super helpful!

I’d recommend going with LEDs for your lighting! They’re way brighter, which makes a huge difference when you’re driving at night, plus they use less power. They also last longer, so you won’t have to deal with replacing them as often.

I installed some 4000K LEDs on my truck, and the visibility is fantastic! They light up the road without blinding oncoming traffic, which is important. LEDs run cooler, so you don’t have to worry about heat buildup as much. Just be sure to invest in a quality set

If you're after a super sharp beam, HIDs could be the way to go! I actually had 4300K HIDs on my previous truck, and they gave off a bright, white light that was really nice to drive with—not too harsh on other drivers, which is always a plus.

to getting the most out of them, go invest on a good projector adapter. That helps control the beam pattern and reduce glare for oncoming traffic. I know LEDs are popular right now and have their benefits, when it comes to brightness and distance, I still think HIDs have an edge. They really illuminate the road ahead, especially on those dark, winding backroads. If you decide to go with that, just make sure to do a little research and get a quality setup.

Both LEDs and HIDs are definitely solid upgrades from halogens, but if I had to pick, I’d lean towards LEDs. They’re super easy to install, don’t have that annoying warm-up time, and 4000K gives you that perfect crisp, white light without looking too blue or flashy. Plus, LEDs usually last longer, which means fewer headaches down the road.

That said, HIDs have their perks too. The key with either option is making sure the beam pattern is solid, so you’re not blinding everyone on the road. It really comes down to what you prioritize: if you want brightness, HIDs, but for ease and longevity, I’d say LEDs are the way to go. Both are great though, so you just gotta know what you prioritize. 😊

I had the same issue with my 2023 Big Horn and ended up switching to 4000K LEDs, seriously, the difference is huge! It’s like night and day (literally). The light is super clean and bright, but not blinding, which is a big plus. They’re also way more efficient than the old halogens, and honestly, I’ve been really happy with how they perform. I did have to adjust them a little bit, just aimed them down a touch so I wasn’t blinding everyone on the road, but after that, they’ve been perfect. If you’re thinking about switching, I’d totally recommend going with LEDs. Super easy to install and the upgrade is worth it! 😁
