Looks like you have a similar issue with the one I replied here. So I'm gonna say it again. The plastic cover is kept secure with 4 clips. To remove it, use a trim removal tool, particularly one with a half-moon shape. These tools can fit into those tight spaces and gently pry the cover off...

You can even go over 100k miles. 80k miles is still too low IMO.
